For many Pastor’s wives, Wednesday nights are, quite possibly, the WORST day of the week. Especially when it comes to getting a decent dinner on the table, the kids fed, cleaned up, and being *reasonably* on time for midweek service. Unfortunately, the back up plan is to just run through the drive-thru (yuck!). So – here lies the solution to your weekly dilemma: What’s for Dinner Wednesday. This week:
Teriyaki Sliders:
Since we just got home last night from our trip to the Midwest to see all of our family, I don’t have groceries yet, nor do I have the desire to go grocery shopping. Luckily, this recipe doesn’t need many ingredients and I already had them all!
This particular recipe is not my own. It comes from 30 Day Gourmet (http://www.30daygourmet.com/), a Once a Month Cooking (OAMC) website. These are definitely one of our family favorites. Of course, you could make full-size hamburgers, if you prefer. We just kind of enjoy the little sliders around here. And it does help with portion control if you’re trying to watch your weight, which we always are.
This recipe makes 12 sliders:
2 lbs ground turkey or beef
1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
1 1/2 tsp minced garlic
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp diced parsley
12 Small split dinner rolls
Just like with all hamburgers, you need to combine all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl.
Divide your meat into 12 slider-sized patties and lightly oil your stove-top grill.
And grill up those patties!
To complete this dinner I also baked some sweet potato fries! Our favorite is from Alexia’s. And yummy dinner is served!
Hubs just asked if I should admit that sometimes we eat more than one.
I’m not admitting anything, New Year’s resolutions, and all…
