I’m Going to Do Some Posts About Organization This Week, But First I Have to Confess Something…

Well, if there’s one thing that’s for sure about life in the ministry, to successfully navigate each day you better gain some organization skills! I get asked all the time how I “keep it together” with this life of mine: I’m married to a minister who’s busy, I’m busy myself with opportunities (yay!) that sometimes have me traveling, I’m homeschooling our 3 kiddos, I travel to the Midwest every couple of months, I’m blogging, and on and on the list goes. So I figured I’d share a few organization tips with you this week. But first I have to confess something.

My husband is, by nature, organized.

My proof? Look at his closet.

Everything is organized by clothing type, with it’s own kind of hanger. All the fronts are facing the same direction. His shoes are all placed neatly on the floor with its mate (an important thing to take note of).

Now let’s pan to the right…to my side of the closet.

Um…yeah…

NOT organized by clothing type with specific hangers. And I CERTAINLY don’t have my shoes lined up with their mates.

Yeah, well, so I had a particularly LONG way to go to get organized by anyone’s standards.

But I’m okay with sharing this side of myself with all of you! I embrace this particular trait that GOD gave me!

It’s my story and I’m sticking to it! ;)

Okay, so I made my point, huh? I’m a recovering mess-aholic, with I-don’t-really-care-itis. So if I can make my home hum along like a well-oiled machine…well, you’ve got no excuses.

So here’s what you can look forward to this week:

Monday: Laundry Time is Family Time

Tuesday: Feeding Your Family with Once A Month Cooking (OAMC)

Thursday: My Kids’ Bookshelves Used to Be a Mess

Friday: Keeping a Family Organization Binder

And of course I’ll be doing What’s for Dinner Wednesday (it’s a OAMC dinner, of course!)

So we’ll see you around this week!

This was really fun! We women just have way more shoes to organize which makes it way more difficult to keep the closet looking nice!
